Sueca’s delegation has traveled to FITUR, the Tourism Fair par excellance in Spain, headed by the mayor of the city Raquel Tamarit. The first day there has been frantic, with many institutional meetings and coverage by the media, in which the Valencian paella has been the main protagonist.
Once again the city exports its name along with the International Paella Valenciana Contest of Sueca, which this year celebrates its 58th edition. The show-cooking by our paella master Jesús Melero has assembled very long lines of assistants waiting to get a portion of the exquisite dish. In the other hand, Tasmania, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, USA, and Japan are confirmed destinations for this year’s international semi-finals. This edition is expected to be the most participative, with the possibility of holding up to eight international semifinals all around the world.
In addition, Arroz Tartana and OCGI/Tasty Fun Events, the organizers of the international eliminatory phases prior to the contest, signed their new collaboration agreement, so for the second year in a row Tartana Rice will also travel to the next worldwide destinations of the paella contest. Juan Valero, on behalf of the brand Arroz Tartana, and Miguel Sanfeliu and Jesús Melero, on the part of OCGI, have formalized the new agreement.
